WARDOGS Vehicles: Spawn Vehicles, Transport and Tanks
Three Ways to Get a Vehicle
- Free base spawns. A few minutes into a match, a large transport helicopter (a Huey-type) and an SUV appear at the team spawn for anyone to take. If you are broke, this is your ride.
- Purchase from the vehicle vendor. Costs cash, gated by your progression tracks, and needs an unlock fee the first time.
- The team spawn vehicle, which arrives automatically — see below.
BULKHEAD’s August 12 devlog counted 21 vehicles; the launch-week press coverage of the Season 1 patch notes puts the Early Access roster at 27 vehicles. Ground vehicles level the Driver track; helicopters level Pilot.
How to Get the Spawn Vehicle (and When It Spawns)
When any team reaches 20 points, all three teams receive an armoured spawn vehicle at their base. It is the single most valuable object your team owns:
| Property | Detail |
|---|---|
| What it does | Your whole team can spawn on it, anywhere it is parked |
| How to deploy it | Interact with the large computer at your base and select the vehicle |
| Cooldown | About 10 minutes per player between uses |
| Weak point | The satellite dish on top. Destroyed, it stops working until repaired |
| Repair | Any repair tool |
| Bounty on the enemy’s | Roughly $15,000, using two IEDs placed and detonated separately |
Parking it badly loses matches; parking it behind a FOB with anti-air is how good teams keep pressure on the zone.
Fuel, Ammo and Repairs
- Fuel and ammo are finite. Top both up at base, or carry a gas can bought from the base vendor.
- Buy ammo separately. Weapons on a vehicle are not always loaded when you buy it — a frequent and expensive surprise.
- Always carry a repair tool when you plan to drive or fly. Repairs pay cash and XP, and the tool runs on batteries, so carry a spare.
- Rolled vehicles can be recovered — flip it back, and a repair area at base fixes it automatically.
Driving and Gunning
- On a vehicle or turret, A and D make coarse movements while the mouse handles fine aim.
- Ground vehicles and helicopters can carry supply crates for FOB resupply, which is one of the steadier ways to earn without fighting.
- Vehicles unlock radio cassettes and larger supply cases as the Driver and Pilot tracks level.
Heavy Armour
Tanks arrive late and cost a lot, and the Season 1 patch notes (September 9, 2026) moved them for launch:
| Vehicle | Beta | Early Access (Season 1) |
|---|---|---|
| SPH-2 artillery tank | War Dog (Career) level 55, $400,000 unlock | Career level 90, $500,000 unlock |
| Heavy tank | Career level 35 | Driver level 35 |
So the split is: the heavy tank now sits on the Driver track, as Joe Brammer said it would, while the artillery tank stayed on the Career track and moved up to level 90 — BULKHEAD’s stated intent being that the top 5% of players who want the big-ticket items “will need to grind”. Per-purchase cost after the unlock was about $8,000 in the beta. Details on the artillery page.
Other Driver-track launch moves from the same patch notes: URAL level 3 (was 4), Kodiak Assault 6 (was 8), Dune Buggy 8 (was 10), Kodiak Flatbed 10 (was 2), Large Supply Crate 16 (was 20), URAL Covered 18 (was 30), URAL Attack 25 (was 40), Humvee with minigun 30 (was 35). Prices: URAL $35,000 (was $50,000), Dune Buggy $25,000 (was $35,000), Kodiak Flatbed $35,000 (was $15,000). Pilot: Little Bird with miniguns $50,000 (was $25,000), Z20 Lakota $35,000 (was $50,000).
Anti-Vehicle Work
The counter-play is well developed, which is why buying a tank before your team can protect it is a bad trade:
- IEDs and C4 for spawn vehicles, FOB structures and parked armour
- RPGs and launchers on the Support track
- Anti-vehicle drones, which beta players described as one of the most profitable tools in the game
- Anti-air emplacements built at a FOB, from basic manual rockets up to heavy SAM systems
